DUNA traveled to Denmark on an international mission with Kid’s Cluster and 5 partner companies to get to know the city of Billund, where LEGO® was born and where it houses the Capital of Children. The latter arises from the cooperation between the City Council and the mythical toy maker.
The result is the creation of a space/city fully aimed at children, and their families, where they can live all playable experiences, educational proposals, innovation and experimentation that allows them to enjoy in the same time they learn in a nice environment .
As companies, we had the opportunity to enrich us in their ways and knowledge with meetings and workshops that showed us from within their working methodologies and their philosophy. The first of these meetings was at the LEGO® Education, where we were able to know the raison d’être of that toy with Hands-on philosophy, from very early age, works to stimulate learning in children as mathematical skills, and technology, among others, such as teamwork and respect for various learning rhythms.
Another section that we were able to visit was LEGO® Idea Studio, a flexible space designed for research and design to make the company’s main innovations born. On the other hand, we also visited the LEGO® House, and its museum devised to know all the secrets of the famous game through the sensory experimentation around 4 spaces destined to the creativity, the innovation, the social skills and the emotions from The LEGO Universe®. The architecture that conforms represent a grouping of bricks stacted into balance on each other very curious. But not everything was found and meetings, we also had the opportunity to visit Legoland, the LEGO theme Park®, where with a time of recreation, we checked as children and families can enjoy adventures and fun experiences with their facilities.

Finally, we visited Billund Public school to understand the relationship between LEGO® and the Danish public education system, as well as to discover the functioning of the education system in Denmark, which bets entirely on the stimulus of the STEAM vocations from of early ages.
The experience was completely rewarding and allowed us to connect between the representatives of the participating companies, while playing and creating in a relaxed way synergies and learning opportunities from each other, and taking note of the philosophies of That all the professionals who welcomed us were transmitted to us.
